The Minnesota Wild and defenseman Matt Dumba have agreed to terms on a two-year, $5.1 million contract.

The deal was done Thursday. Dumba, who was a restricted free agent, will make $2.35 million this season and $2.75 million next season.

Dumba was the Wild's first-round draft pick in 2012. He totaled 10 goals, 16 assists, 83 hits and 56 blocked shots in 81 regular-season games in 2015-16, all career highs.

Senators GM Pierre Dorion was so pleased to get Mike Hoffman under contract that he hugged another member of the club's management team on Wednesday.

The Senators and Hoffman, Ottawa's leading scorer last season, avoided going to arbitration by agreeing to a four-year contract worth nearly $21 million.

Defenseman Danny DeKeyser is staying home, agreeing to a deal with the Detroit Red Wings.

The 26-year-old had an arbitration hearing set for Thursday, but Red Wings general manager Ken Holland told the Detroit Free Press on Tuesday that DeKeyser has agreed to a six-year, $30 million contract.

Forward Chris Kreider and the New York Rangers agreed to a deal minutes before their scheduled arbitration hearing Friday morning.

Multiple reports say Kreider will receive a four-year contract with an annual salary-cap hit of $4.625 million.

The Colorado Avalanche agreed to a one-year deal with forward Mikhail Grigorenko on Wednesday.

The 22-year-old Grigorenko had six goals and 21 assists in 74 games for Colorado last season.

Hours before Marcus Johansson and the Capitals were set to go to arbitration for the second time, they agreed on a $13.75 million, three-year deal. The 25-year-old Swedish forward will count $4.583 million against the salary cap, almost exactly between the two sides' arbitration asking prices but on a longer contract.

"I don't think anyone wants to go to arbitration. That's kind of a last resort,'' Johansson said on a conference call from Toronto on Wednesday. "It was a little tight schedule before the meeting, but I'm really happy that we worked it out.''

The Blues and restricted free agent forward Jaden Schwartz have avoided arbitration and agreed on a five-year contract extension worth $26.75 million.

Re-signing the 24-year-old Schwartz was a top priority for the team, which lost in the Western Conference finals to San Jose.

Stars captain Jamie Benn signed an eight-year, $76 million contract extension Friday.

The team announced the deal a day after Benn had surgery to repair an abdominal muscle injury.

The Detroit Red Wings have signed center Luke Glendening to a four-year extension worth $7.2 million.

The team announced the deal Thursday. Glendening had a year left on his contract.

The Edmonton Oilers have signed Jesse Puljujarvi, the fourth overall pick at the draft, to a three-year entry level contract.

Puljujarvi joins a young Oilers core led by star center Connor McDavid.
